Experimental Economics

Link to the Scientific American article on the Traveler's Dilemma. The premise of the game is that two people who traveled on an airline bought identical items that were both damaged. They both make claims independently of one another. The airline has no idea what the items are worth, and so decides to pay the amount in the lower of the two claims. They also decide to penalize the person making the higher claim by paying the the amount of the lower claim less a fine for "cheating."
